Problem of the Week

Updated at Jul 17, 2023 3:23 PM

This week we have another equation problem:

How would you solve \(\frac{5(t-3)}{5{t}^{2}}=0\)?

Let's start!

\[\frac{5(t-3)}{5{t}^{2}}=0\]

1
Cancel \(5\).
\[\frac{t-3}{{t}^{2}}=0\]

2
Simplify  \(\frac{t-3}{{t}^{2}}\)  to  \(\frac{1}{t}-\frac{3}{{t}^{2}}\).
\[\frac{1}{t}-\frac{3}{{t}^{2}}=0\]

3
Multiply both sides by the Least Common Denominator: \({t}^{2}\).
\[t-3=0\]

4
Add \(3\) to both sides.
\[t=3\]
