Quotient Rule

Reference > Algebra: Exponents

Description

The Quotient Rule states that:

xaxb=xab\frac{{x}^{a}}{{x}^{b}}={x}^{a-b}
Examples
x8x5\frac{{x}^{8}}{{x}^{5}}
1
Use Quotient Rule: xaxb=xab\frac{{x}^{a}}{{x}^{b}}={x}^{a-b}.
x85{x}^{8-5}

2
Simplify  858-5  to  33.
