To get more practice in equation, we brought you this problem of the week:

How can we solve the equation 2(4z4+5)=142(\frac{4z}{4}+5)=14?

Check out the solution below!

2(4z4+5)=142(\frac{4z}{4}+5)=14

1
Cancel 44.
2(z+5)=142(z+5)=14

2
Divide both sides by 22.
z+5=142z+5=\frac{14}{2}

3
Simplify  142\frac{14}{2}  to  77.
z+5=7z+5=7

4
Subtract 55 from both sides.
z=75z=7-5

5
Simplify  757-5  to  22.
z=2z=2
